I was recently contacted by Backyard Ocean to do a review for them. I was really excited as they were sending me a 26″ x 8′ Float to Fill above ground pool and so were my grandchildren! The pool arrived within days of them contacting me – and it was cold and raining for almost 2 weeks! My kind of luck, lol!
While waiting on the pool to arrive, I browsed around the Backyard Ocean website and was pleasantly surprised with the products they carry and the prices. If you are in the market for above ground swimming pools, portable spas, or need to purchase pool supplies they have you covered and have really competitive prices. For instance, the pool I received is priced at $79.99 but is currently on sale for only $49.99 – that is a really great deal!
We were finally able to get the pool set up this weekend and my grandson was the first to enjoy it. He had a BLAST!
As I stated above, shipping of the pool was really quick. I received it within 2 days of being told it was shipped – thumbs up for quick shipping!
The pool was very easy to set up and took just about 20 minutes before we (I enlisted the help of my hubby aka Pap-pap) started filling it with water. We used our air compressor to fill the ring. I am glad we were able to use it. Although Pap-pap says I am full of hot air – it was him and his air compressor that had to do the job.
I had purchased a tarp to put down first and I am very glad that I did. It states in the directions that if water starts to fill on one side and not the other that it is not level and you need to move it. The tarp made it very easy to move around – I grabbed one corner and Pap-pap grabbed another corner and we tugged it around until it looked fairly level. Just a note – if you think your yard is level, just try setting a pool up and you will realize it is not as level as you thought!
Once we had the pool positioned and the wrinkles smoothed out of the bottom, we continued to fill it with water. It took about an hour to fill up to the fill-line. We did have to adjust the walls when it started to fill, but once they were adjusted we let it fill and kept an eye on it while we ate dinner on the deck. It was that easy! As it fills with water the walls just stand right up!
We also received two beach balls and a patch/repair kit. The pool was ready for fun!
Shipping was very quick, set up was easy and the pool appears to be very durable. We also received the two beach balls for instant fun!
Our instructions stated there was a plug in the side wall for draining the pool. There is no plug in the wall of this pool. I assume we will have to deflate the top ring and hold the side down so the water can be drained – or siphon it out.
The pool must be taken down before cold weather sets in and must be stored in a warm place. Cold weather could cause it to crack and it will no longer be usable. I am already worried about where I am going to store it!
If I were to purchase any type of above ground swimming pool, I would not hesitate to buy it from Backyard Ocean. They have great customer service, quick shipping, great prices and a quality product.
