Lights for Liam Lyon & Prayer Request

I love Facebook.  Most of you who follow my blog on Facebook know that I spend a huge amount of time on there.  Most of it is just spending time browsing around.  I learn things that are good to know and things I wish I didn’t know – but this past week I learned something that touched my heart in a huge way.  It was a page I came across of a little baby boy who has fought to live since the day he was born and he has fought this fight for over a year.

William Elijah Lyon, affectionately dubbed Liam, was born February 18, 2011 at 3:25am to Whitney and Brody Lyon in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Although he was about 5 weeks early, he was a perfect size weighing 6 lbs and measuring 19 inches long. But it was quickly apparent there was a serious problem. Thanks to Dr. Seglem and his diagnostic skills – Liam was quickly diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Our boy had a congenital heart defect that is fatal if left untreated. He was transferred that evening by Life Flight to The Children’s Hospital at St. Francis in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  (Copied from the I Love Liam Lyon Facebook page)

You see, little Liam was born with half a heart, but he has touched the hearts of thousands with his will to live and his cute chubby (from fluid build up) smile.  He has had 4 open heart surgeries, including a heart transplant.  He has struggled with fluid build up in his little body for months and now is at the point where he is not able to take much more.

The family had Liam baptized today and are asking that everyone, everywhere, turn on their porch lights tonight and pray for Liam.  His fight may soon be over, let’s pray for him and his family to know the peace that only God can give during times like this.  Pray for complete healing, pray for a miracle – be bold!

They have a Facebook page set up where you can post your name and location where your porch lights will be burning bright.  The Facebook page is Lights for Liam Lyon.

I am sure the family has stacks of hospital bills. If you are able to give, they have a Paypal account set up.  The Paypal link is iloveliamlyon@yahoo.com.

Please take a moment to say a prayer for this little guy and his family tonight.

Good Morning Kim – Liam is my great nephew. He had a couple of pretty good days – and just when he started feeling better, it was time to try and cut his little upper teeth! Sorry he has to go through that discomfort but happy he has the chance – thank you for your prayers – love and prayers turned this boy around this week. Hugs, Aunt Susan

Hi Aunt Susan! So great to hear from you about Liam. I too am glad he is getting the chance to cut teeth! Just shows his body is doing the normal things of growing in spite of what is going on. I do believe that God is holding that little guy in the palm of his hand. I will continue to pray for Liam and all of you and will continue to share his story with as many people as I can. God bless you all! In Him ~ Kim
